SEN Teaching Assistant x2 – Ilford

We are currently seeking two dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join supportive and inclusive schools in Ilford. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them overcome barriers to learning in a nurturing and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide targeted support as an SEN Teaching Assistant, working with pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups. - Support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them engage with learning and classroom activities. - Assist the class teacher in implementing personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies. - Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting confidence and independence. - Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and SENCOs. - Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and engagement. - Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals where required. - Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

- Experience working with children or young people, ideally supporting SEN. - A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils with additional needs. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents. - Good organisational skills and the ability to adapt to the needs of individual learners. - A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
