About the role
Reporting to the Account Controller the role is to head up the designated Customer Account/Accounts which involves responsibility for delivering the volume, profitability (GM/L and EBITDA), management and coordination of a direct and business-wide cross functional team, ensuring optimum performance, providing customer focus whilst generating sustained, profitable growth and forging stronger business partner relationships.
Key Responsibilities of the National Account Manager
- Develop, implement, and monitor customer Joint Business Plans while supporting the Account Controller in achieving business unit goals.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, leading all commercial activities, communication, and account management to protect and grow [Employer hidden]’s position.
- Drive commercial performance through cost optimisation, delivery of price increases/EBITDA targets, debt reduction, forecasting accuracy, and evaluation of commercial activities.
- Lead cross‑functional projects, identify new business opportunities, and collaborate with internal teams (Supply Chain, Finance, Brands, etc.) to improve performance and deliver growth.
About you
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience as a National Account Manager or in a similar customer‑facing commercial role, supported by strong FMCG knowledge across both Own Label and Branded products and relevant sector expertise. They will demonstrate a solid understanding of project‑management principles, applying them effectively in previous roles, and will be highly customer‑focused with strong relationship‑building skills. In addition, they should be confident and capable in the use of key IT tools, including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
