About the Role

Due to an exciting period of growth, we are looking for an Accounts Assistant (Payroll), who will play a key role in supporting weekly payroll for temporary workers and assisting with wider finance tasks. You’ll need strong attention to detail, confidence with numbers, and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Key Duties

  • Process weekly payroll for temporary workers
  • Handle payroll queries with staff and management
  • Process expenses, holiday pay, deductions, and pension letters
  • Administer PAYE tax codes and upload pension information
  • Complete HMRC/DWP earnings requests
  • Support monthly NHS TUPE payroll and year‑end tasks
  • Assist with purchase and sales ledger processing

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 18 months – 2 years payroll or administration experience
  • GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/Level 4+)
  • Strong Excel and IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Reliable and committed, with evidence of dependability in previous roles
  • Experience managing queries and working to tight deadlines

*If you have demonstrable experience with payroll software, this would be advantageous. However, full training will be provided.*
