Full time Drum Tutor (Guernsey)
School of Popular Music (SOPM) is seeking an energetic, passionate Drum Tutor to join our Guernsey team.

You’ll teach a mix of one-to-one drum lessons, group sessions, and band workshops, helping students of all ages and abilities to develop groove, timing, and stage confidence. From first beats to full band performances, you’ll play a key role in every student’s musical journey.

Ideal qualifications
Must-have
- Ability to teach one-to-one and small-group drum lessons
- Proficiency to Grade 8 level (or equivalent) on drums
- Confident across contemporary styles (rock, pop, funk, metal, etc.)
- Strong understanding of technique, timing, and performance skills
- Excellent communication and ability to motivate students of all confidence levels
- Right to work in Guernsey (relocation support available)
- Willingness to complete an enhanced background check
Preferred
- Experience as a performing drummer (live or studio)
- Prior drum tutoring or ensemble-leading experience
- Ability to coach live performance, stagecraft, and band interaction
- Familiarity with graded syllabuses (RSL/Trinity or equivalent)
- Basic DAW/recording literacy (Logic, GarageBand, etc.) for lesson support
- Collaborative, student-centred teaching approach
