Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RGN) to provide high-quality nursing care to patients in our private hospital ward. The successful candidate will deliver patient-centred care, lead the nursing team in day-to-day ward activities, and ensure adherence to professional, legal, and clinical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients in line with best practice and hospital policies.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely, accurately, and in accordance with hospital policy and NMC guidelines.
  • Monitor, record, and interpret patient observations and communicate changes effectively to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Support and supervise Healthcare Assistants and junior staff, providing guidance and mentorship.
  • Maintain patient safety, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Participate in ward rounds, handovers, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualised care plans.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control procedures.
  • Support patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records.
  • Actively contribute to the ward’s quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Current registration with the NMC as a Registered General Nurse.
  • Previous experience in an acute hospital setting.
  • Excellent clinical skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of UK healthcare legislation, NMC standards, and clinical governance principles.

Desirable:

  • Experience in private healthcare or specialty wards (e.g., surgical, oncology, cardiology).
  • Additional certifications in advanced life support or specialist nursing areas.
  • Experience in mentoring or supervising junior staff.
