The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in catering, cooking, and cafe operations within a professional setting. Duties - Assist with basic food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly, supporting chefs with plating and other kitchen tasks as required. - Serve meals to staff in a courteous and efficient manner. - Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment. - Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment by regularly cleaning work surfaces and equipment, emptying bins, and managing waste correctly. - Ensure all kitchen areas meet hygiene, health, and food safety standards, including the proper storage and handling of ingredients. - Receive, check, and store deliveries and assist with inventory checks and restocking supplies as needed. - Support the kitchen team during busy service periods with general kitchen duties and organisational tasks. Skills - Previous experience in catering, cooking, or cafe environments is desirable but not essential - Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety standards - Ability to work efficiently under supervision while maintaining attention to detail - Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively - Strong communication skills and a friendly attitude towards colleagues - Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary arts and food service operations This role offers an excellent platform for individuals interested in developing their culinary skills within a supportive team environment.
