FULL DESCRIPTION

Day Time Chef:

We are seeking a qualified / part qualified Chef to join our small, friendly catering team to support food preparation and service for our students, staff, and guests.

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is a Higher Education (18 yrs +) residential campus providing three meals per day, for the majority of the year, plus serving additional guests and staff during lunch time.

This is a great role for anyone looking to build on their newly achieved catering qualifications or return to a career in the kitchen.

Successful applicants will have:

  • A good understanding of Food Hygiene and Health and Safety requirements.
  • A recognised catering qualification (NVQ Level 2). Recently qualified or final year College students will also be considered for this post.
  • Practical cookery skills and an experience of food preparation following a variety of agreed menus, including catering for special dietary needs, within an agreed budget.
  • Be able to work independently without direct support at times.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and enthusiastic to try new things and learn new skills.
  • A good team player and willingness to work and support others in a close-knit team.
  • Good sense of humour.

Shifts

Day time shifts vary between the hours of 7am and 6pm.

This is not a term time only role.  We do close the kitchen over Christmas.

Pay: £13.50 to £14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 hours – 32 hours (2-4 days)
