Class 1 HGV driver - Nightshift - London Heathrow - 4 on 4 OFF

We now have a vacancy for a Class 1 HGV driver on a 4 on 4 off roster (nightshift) on a salary of £39,000 - £40,000 per annum (excluding overtime), and based in London Heathrow.

The focus of the job entails that objectives are established for the storage and/or distribution of products to maintain product safety, quality and legality in accordance with the quality policy of the BRC Standard.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Transporting goods and documents to customers and airline sheds
• Loading and unloading goods
• Delivering goods and accurately checking them off
• Ensuring that vehicles are kept in appropriate condition and the cab interiors are kept tidy and ensure that the vehicles are well-maintained, have fuel, oil and are ready to drive
• Recording and reporting vehicle defects to Transport Manager
• Drive safely and follow all laws and rules of driving to maintain a safe and healthy work environment
• To keep up to date with all changes to policies and procedures
• Communicates with customers by phone to update them of time of deliveries if there have been issues or changes to their estimated time of arrival
• Follows pre-planned route accurately without deviation from set course
• Maintains communication with management to be informed of any change of delivery, route or schedule
• Informs management of any obstructions to making safe, efficient deliveries on time
• Ensuring that all required documentation is completed
• Provide professional, efficient and courteous service to all customers and visitors to the facility
• Work with team colleagues to ensure that the workplace environment is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, and complies with company policy
• Take reasonable care of both your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions
• Ensuring that you adhere to all company policies in line with being an ETSF warehouse
• Ensuring that you adhere to all policies and requirements for AEO, BRC etc
• Contributing to Health & Safety and Workplace Security
• Carrying out relevant procedures in the case of an emergency
• Any other duties that may be required from time to time for the smooth running of the business

Candidates are subject to stringent 5 year history / DBS checks. Security vetting takes on average 4-6 weeks. The successful candidate will not be allowed to commence work before successfully passing vetting.
