Service Manager

Location: Paisley – Occasional travel may be required to visit service users or other [Employer hidden] locations.

Salary: £30,000 – £36,000, depending on experience.

Contract Type: Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week). Flexibility may be needed to meet project deadlines.

Role Overview – Service Manager:

We are currently seeking a Service Manager to lead the operational and administrative aspects of care services at [Employer hidden] Limited. This position involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining high-quality care standards, and nurturing a culture of respect and empowerment for both staff and service users.

As the Service Manager, you’ll be accountable for managing and improving the delivery of care services. You will coordinate planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure a seamless experience for service users. Your mission is to maximise satisfaction, enhance operational workflows, and support growth through outstanding service delivery.

Key Duties:

Service Management:

  • Create and implement care delivery strategies aligned with user needs and company goals.
  • Monitor service performance and take steps to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Lead and support the staff team to build a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, supervision, and development of care staff.
  • Evaluate staff performance through appraisals and provide ongoing professional development.

Supporting Service Users:

  • Develop strong relationships with service users and their families to better understand expectations.
  • Serve as the key contact for service-related queries, complaints, and feedback.
  • Address and resolve service user concerns proactively and efficiently.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Apply industry best practices to optimise operational processes.
  • Routinely assess service procedures to keep pace with business and sector changes.
  • Ensure full compliance with current legislation and Care Inspectorate guidelines.
  • Maintain thorough documentation, including care plans, training logs, and incident reports.
  • Implement quality assurance measures to continually elevate service and safeguarding standards.

Care Delivery Oversight:

  • Supervise the assessment, care planning, delivery, and review processes.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of services based on feedback from stakeholders.

Communication & External Relations:

  • Maintain open lines of communication with service users, families, and professionals.
  • Liaise with external agencies, including social services and healthcare providers.
  • Represent the organisation at professional forums, meetings, and events.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • SVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent recognised care qualification.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the care industry.
  • Registration with a relevant regulatory authority (e.g., Scottish Social Services Council).
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with home care procedures and tools.
  • Understanding of the legal and regulatory framework for care provision in Scotland.
  • Competency in using digital tools and software relevant to care service management.
