##### The opportunity Our client is renowned for innovation in Satellite Communications, working with a wide variety of clients in the commercial and defence sectors.  They also  develop their own cutting-edge products for deployment into highly novel, global wireless communications solutions. ​ Due to growing demand from their customers, and the continued progression of a major project, they are looking to hire a Senior Satellite Communications Systems Engineer.  The role is focused on innovation in the design, delivery and operation of satellite communications networks and the communications systems they support. ​ This role will have plenty of variety, including evaluating new technologies, tools and frameworks, analysing and designing end-to-end systems, systems integraion, implemention, maintenancem troubleshooting and reporting. ​ We're looking for someone with broad knowledge of SatComs Systems Engineering, gained either in a commercial or military environment. ​ You'll need to have proven ability to take ownership of the delivery of critical system components, will be highly customer-facing and have a track record  in developing innovative and efficient solutions. ​ Due to the nature of the role, you'll need to undergo Security Clearance.  If you've already been cleared to SC level, all the better. ​ The role can be home-based, with travel to client sites when necessary.  In practical terms, this most likely means a day or two per week in the west of England.

##### Duties - Collaborating with stakeholders and a wide range of colleagues to design and implement reliable and scalable solutions - Keeping abreast of emerging technology and trends to evaluate and introduce innovations to enhance systems performance, efficiency and reliability - Undertaking integration engineering tasts across hardware and software components, working with internal technical teams and external vendors - Investigate and troubleshoot complex systems issues - Develop and implement monitoring solutions - Create and maintain comprehensive systems documentation
##### Requirements - Proven track record in Systems Engineering in Space/Satcoms - Good understanding of satellite and terrestrial communications - Strong practical knowledge of Systems Engineering practices, principles and methodologies - Knowledge of end-to-end Systems Engineering from requirements through to release - Excellent customer-facing and collaboration skills - Experience in the Defence domain would be an advantage - Must be prepared to undergo security clearance
