HGV Technician

We are a well-established company, founded in 1957, and specialists in commercial vehicle rental. Our Business has 5 rental depots, with modern,  fully equipped workshops in the North and South of England. From these depots we operate over 2000 vehicles of which approximately 1100 are above 3.5 tons.

The role of HGV Technician will involve being responsible for carrying out inspection and service routines, general repairs and maintenance of vehicles in a professional and safe manner. The HGV Technician will be reporting to the Workshop Manager and will be able to investigate and diagnose faults, report findings and be able to carry out all repairs to the current manufacturer’s standards.

The role offers a wide variety of work and so it would be advantageous for you to possess these skills:

  • Knowledge of cranes or hydraulics
  • Experience working on tippers, tipper grabs or beaver tails
  • Knowledge of latest diagnostic systems
  • Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) HGV License (Car License Holders will also be considered)

We very much pride ourselves on the standards of service on all of our vehicles. As a HGV Technician, you will be responsible for managing diagnostics and ordering parts effectively whilst being able to carry out all repairs to the highest standards and with the most effective use of time.

We are looking for a team player to fill this role who will be flexible and able to work to set deadlines. You must have previous HGV technical experience and can adopt a hands-on approach to all aspects of the role to ensure continued high levels of work are carried out right first time, every time.

Hourly rates breakdown

  • 40 hours x £18.00 = £720.00 x 52 weeks = £37,440.00 (Contracted Basic Hours)
  • 7.5 hours x £27.00 = £202.50 x 52 weeks (Average Standard Overtime at time and a half)
  • 5 hours x £27.00 = £135.00 x 26 weeks = £3,510.00 (Contracted Alternate Saturday Mornings at time and a half)

TOTAL Average Earnings Per Annum = £51,480.00.

In addition the company offers a non-contractual profit share scheme that you would be enrolled into after initial qualifying period
