Our client is a well established, leading software company and to support on-going growth across the business, they now seek to appoint a capable Software Developer to join their growing team.
As a Software Developer you will work closely with the development team to maintain and enhance the core application and related software and to provide third line support to other departments within the company and support in the development of ongoing upgrades and in the creation of exiting new features.
Responsibilities
- Fix, improve and extend existing code while providing all relevant aspects of the software development life cycle that pertain to such code, such as documentation and unit testing.
- Research and resolve problems using strong problem solving skills.
- Analysis of business requirements and clearly quantifying actions.
- Report regularly to the Team Leader on work progress.
- Provide technical support to QA & Testing, Customer Support and other departments.
- Collaborate with colleagues in learning and understanding the product features being developed.
Key Skills
Strong technology expertise in multiple diverse areas such as:
- Proven experience of developing and deploying software
- Understanding of quality processes in software development, such as unit testing and version control.
- Good understanding of modern software architecture and approaches.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems through debugging and deductive reasoning.
- Commitment to maintain skills and knowledge that is state of the art.
- Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills, including communication with staff throughout the company.
- Commitment to learning the details of a growing and complex business area.
