FULL DESCRIPTION
Senior Sustainability Consultant & Team Leader
We are looking for a new Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our team to lead our Environmental and Wellbeing Certifications team. The role would suit an experienced manager with the drive to develop and grow the team. The team has a particular focus on BREEAM and WELL assessments but is also involved in Ska, FitWell, LEED, Edge and RESET assessments. The suitable candidate will play a role in expanding the services offered by the team.
Team Leadership, Development & Strategy
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sustainability consultants working on environmental and wellbeing assessments.
- Provide technical guidance on BREEAM, WELL, and other relevant schemes.
- Support professional development, training, and accreditation within the team.
- Manage team workload, project allocation, and quality assurance of deliverables.
- Strategise with other team leaders and play an active role in growing and diversifying the team’s workload
- Contribute to proposals and develop client relationships
- Manage financial forecasting and invoicing
Project Oversight
- Oversee the delivery of BREEAM and WELL certification projects across a portfolio of developments.
- Provide senior technical review and strategic direction during key project stages.
- Ensure projects meet certification requirements, timelines, and quality standards.
- Act as a senior point of contact for clients on environmental and wellbeing certification strategies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in sustainability, environmental engineering, architecture, building services, or related discipline.
- 5+ years’ experience in sustainability consulting within the built environment.
- Accredited BREEAM Assessor/AP and/or WELL AP (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects and leading or mentoring teams.
Skills
- Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
- Deep understanding of BREEAM, WELL, and environmental performance standards.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to guide multidisciplinary teams through sustainability certification processes.
