Senior Product Controller (London)

Working in the Finance Team, as a Senior Product Controller, you will be the primary evaluator of the performance of the firm's trading desks and digital product lines. You will ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, manage valuation risks, and provide strategic insights into the profitability of our digital assets and financial products. You’ll bridge the gap between complex front-office trading activities and back-office financial reporting. This is an opportunity to enhance the existing processes to improve the quality, accuracy, timeliness and independence of the function.

Key Responsibilities

  • P&L Production & Analysis: Deliver daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly, Profit and Loss (P&L) reporting. Provide deep-dive commentary on drivers, including market movements, costs and new trade activity.
  • Position Substantiation: Verify the integrity of the businesses trading positions ensuring all digital assets positions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
  • Independent Price Verification (IPV): Lead the valuation process by checking internal marks against independent market data.
  • Compensation Accrual: Ensuring compensation accrual is both accurate and dynamic, as the P&L moves over time. Managing changes as and when required.
  • Process Automation: Identify inefficiencies in manual reporting and collaborate with Engineering/Data teams to automate workflows.
  • Control Framework: Maintain a robust internal control environment to mitigate operational risk, specifically regarding trade lifecycle events in a 24/7 digital market. Manage accounting policies to support the valuations and revenue recognition.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as a key advisor to Traders, Portfolio Managers, and Senior Finance leadership regarding margin trends and capital requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 5–8 years in Product Control, Middle Office, or Audit within a financial institution (Fintech, Crypto, or Investment Banking experience preferred). Dealing with revenue producers
  • Technical Savvy: Proficiency in Excel/GSheets is a given, but experience with programming language and utilising AI, is beneficial.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong understanding of financial products (Derivatives, Fixed Income, or Digital Assets/Tokens).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics. Professional designations (CPA, CFA, or ACCA) are a major plus.
