Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (including GCSE and A-Level where applicable) - Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills - Monitor, assess, and report on student progress - Use innovative teaching strategies to make lessons engaging and accessible for all abilities - Encourage participation in extracurricular activities such as debating, writing clubs, and school production - Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives - Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification - Strong subject knowledge in English literature and language - Experience teaching GCSE English preferred - Excellent classroom management and communication skills - Passion for fostering student engagement and literacy development - Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) - A minimum of 6 months teaching in UK schools
