We’re looking for a Senior Buyer to lead complex procurement activities, manage key suppliers, and deliver value across our projects and categories. You’ll drive procurement strategy, manage risk, ensure compliance, and build strong supplier and stakeholder relationships to support operational and project success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement planning and sourcing across complex categories/projects.
  • Implement procurement strategy, manage commercial risk, and ensure compliance with governance and policy.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules to secure value and resilient supply.
  • Manage supplier performance, onboarding, site visits, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee accurate purchase orders, documentation, and delivery performance.
  • Monitor procurement KPIs, analyse spend/market data, and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Partner with Operations, Warehousing and Project teams to influence decisions and support best practice.
  • Administer contracts, variations and change controls; manage disputes where required.
  • Lead improvements to procurement processes, systems, and supplier performance.
  • Coach and support less experienced colleagues.

Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with strong commercial judgement.
  • Deep understanding of procurement governance, compliance, and risk management.
  • Strong data analysis skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI); SAP experience desirable.
  • Significant experience in procurement, supply chain, or commercial roles.
  • Proven experience leading complex sourcing and supplier negotiations.
  • Strong background in contract management, supplier performance and risk management.
  • Knowledge of procurement metrics and frameworks (NEC4 or similar).
  • CIPS Level 4 (essential); Level 5 or working towards (desirable).
