Residency

We offer one or two weeks of studio space for dance artists who are researching and developing new work.

### Why apply for a residency at [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk]?

We’re passionate about supporting artists who ask questions of themselves, their work and the world. Our building has a rich history of supporting independent dance artists to develop new work. We continue this legacy through our residency scheme by ensuring [Employer hidden] is a home for artists.

[‘It really does exceed a “room” offer…’ read some recent feedback from an artist in residence.](https://yorkshiredance.com/news/news-artist-in-residence/)

During your residency, we offer [one-to-one](https://yorkshiredance.com/project/working-with-artists/) advice sessions with our Artist Development team. If you wish to share your work we can help you facilitate a critical feedback session.

You are welcome to use our wellbeing space, [artist co-working space](https://yorkshiredance.com/use-our-building/artist-co-working-space/) and our office kitchen, where you can spend time with our team.

### Who can apply for a residency?

All artists who live and work in Yorkshire or who have a strong commitment to the region, or the North, are eligible to apply.

We offer residencies for projects which reflect [our artistic statement](https://yorkshiredance.com/about/).

### Residency Costs and Terms & Conditions

For unfunded projects we offer one week free of charge.

For funded projects (e.g. through an Arts Council Project grant) we ask for a subsidised contribution of £500 for the first week. Your second week costs £400 (a 20% discount).

We accept residencies lasting up to two weeks. Please book two-week residencies in consecutive weeks where possible.

If you need to cancel your residency booking for any reason you will need to reapply. Your new residency application will be assessed on equal merit and dependent on availability of space.

### Talk to us before applying

If you wish to include your residency in an Arts Council Project Grant or other funding application please contact our Creative Projects Assistant, Tammy Tsang on [[contact hidden]](mailto:[contact hidden]) or [contact hidden] before you submit.

### How to apply

To apply for a residency please complete the form below. We aim to contact you within two weeks of submission.

We recommend applying at least 3 months ahead of your planned project activity. Occasionally, we advertise last minute residency space through our social media channels and [our artist newsletter](https://yorkshiredance.com/mailing-list/).
