Salary: £29,000 per year (depending on experience and qualifications)

Days/Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday–Friday | Shifts between 8:00am–6:00pm

Contract: All Year Round / Permanent

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Nursery Chef to join our independent, owner-managed Nursery.

Our 50-place setting is thoughtfully designed to support children’s wellbeing, independence, and curiosity. We are looking for a dedicated chef to prepare fresh, nutritious homemade meals and manage the kitchen to the highest standards of hygiene and safety. Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare balanced, rotating menus considering dietary and cultural requirements
• Prepare and cook all meals in line with daily menus and special events
• Prevent cross-contamination and maintain strict food hygiene standards
• Ensure meals are prepared and served on time
• Order stock, manage budgets, and maintain accurate records
• Monitor stock rotation, labelling, and expiry dates
• Record fridge and freezer temperatures daily
• Support staff in promoting healthy eating with children

About You

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Nursery or School Chef/Cook

• Passionate about children’s nutrition and healthy eating

• Experience managing dietary requirements and allergies

• Highly organised and able to manage the kitchen independently

• Strong understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality

• Excellent written and spoken English

• Eligible to work in the UK
