FULL DESCRIPTION

Nursery Deputy Room Leader – Hove, East Sussex, BN3

Salary: £29,265 per annum (depending on experience, qualifications, and age)

Days/Hours: Monday to Friday / 42 hours per week / 4 days – 38 hours considered for the right candidate Shifts between 7:30am–6:00pm

Contract: All Year Round / Permanent

We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a passionate Nursery Deputy Room Leader to join our small, bespoke Nursery.

Inspired by Nordic educational approaches, our setting places strong emphasis on emotional intelligence, academic confidence, and children’s happiness. This role is ideal for an experienced Level 3 Nursery Practitioner looking to progress into leadership.

Responsibilities

  • • Support the Room Leader in managing the day-to-day running of the room
  • • Lead the room independently one day per week
  • • Deliver high-quality childcare and early education in line with the EYFS
  • • Support and celebrate children’s learning and development with families
  • • Contribute to the overall development and success of the nursery
  • • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment

About You

• Hold a minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (full and relevant)

• Have previous experience as a Nursery Practitioner or Room Leader

• Be passionate, loyal, and enthusiastic with fresh ideas for learning

• Be patient, friendly, and an excellent team player

• Demonstrate commitment to outdoor learning and inclusive practice

• Have excellent communication skills

• Be eligible to work in the UK
