SENCO / Early Years Practitioner – Reading, Berkshire, RG2

£14.50 £ / Hour

SENCO / Early Years Practitioner – Reading, Berkshire, RG2

Salary: £14.50 per hour (depending on experience, qualifications and age)

Days/Hours: 40 hours per week | 4 or 5 days | 8:00am–6:00pm OR 36 Hours Monday–Friday | 9:00am–3:00pm

Contract: Permanent / All year round

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery SENCO to join our Nursery team.

This role focuses on supporting children with special educational needs, working closely with the Room Leader and Leadership Team to ensure inclusive practice across the Nursery while maintaining full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. You will primarily support up to two children with SEN (this may change over time), champion inclusive strategies, guide colleagues, and help create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.

Responsibilities

  • • Provide high-quality care and early education for all children
  • • Support children with SEN through tailored strategies and interventions
  • • Work collaboratively with room leaders and the leadership team
  • • Ensure children’s progress and achievements are celebrated with families
  • • Apply strong EYFS knowledge to support inclusive learning and development
  • • Maintain compliance with SEN, safeguarding and EYFS requirements

About You

• Hold a minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (full and relevant)

• Have previous experience as a Nursery Practitioner or similar role

• Have SEN experience and/or a SEN qualification

• Be patient, caring and a strong team player

  • • Bring new ideas to support inclusive, high-quality learning
  • • Demonstrate strong communication skills with parents and colleagues
  • • Be eligible to work in the UK
