FULL DESCRIPTION

Salary: £30,000–£31,500 per year (£14.43 per hour)

Hours: 40 hours per week | Shifts between 7:30am–6:30pm

Contract: Permanent, all year round

Deputy Nursery Manager – Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP20

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Nursery Manager to join an independent, family-run nursery in Aylesbury (HP20).

This is a mixed room-based and office-based role, 50/50 ideal for a confident early years leader looking for a fresh challenge. You will support the Nursery Manager in delivering high-quality childcare, the EYFS, and a unique curriculum, while helping the nursery continue to grow and thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day running of the nursery
  • Deputise for the Nursery Manager when required
  • Help manage finances, occupancy, and performance targets
  • Lead, support, and develop the staff team
  • Ensure all statutory training remains up to date
  • Assist with goal-setting and monitor progress
  • Maintain policies, procedures, and compliance
  • Manage emails and communications professionally and promptly

About You

  • Must have previous Deputy Manager or leadership experience
  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (full and relevant)
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS
  • Excellent safeguarding, child protection and SEND knowledge
  • Proven ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams
  • Strong parent partnership and communication skills
  • Eligible to work in the UK
