Deputy Nursery Manager – Croydon, London, CR2

Salary: £32,760–£35,100 per year (depending on hours, experience, and qualifications)

Hours: Monday–Friday | 42 or 45 hours | Shifts between 7:15am–6:45pm | Permanent, all year round

Deputy Nursery Manager – Croydon, London CR2

We are seeking a passionate Deputy Nursery Manager / Room Leader to join our fantastic nursery team in Croydon, London (CR2). Based in a spacious, purpose-designed setting with creative rooms, age-specific areas, and excellent outdoor spaces—including a sensory garden, large sand pit with pirate ship, and nursery animals—this role is perfect for someone confident in leadership, passionate about EYFS, and excited to help run the nursery alongside the Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the nursery team, supporting the Nursery Manager
  • Ensure full compliance with EYFS and regulatory requirements
  • Create and implement engaging educational programmes
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
  • Manage resources, budgets, and contribute to overall nursery operations

About You

  • Previous leadership or deputy experience
  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • Excellent knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, child protection, and SEND
  • Proven ability to develop and motivate a high-performing team
  • Able to build strong and positive parent partnerships
  • Eligible to work in the UK
