Senior Scientist - ADME/DMPK

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a Senior Scientist to join our *in vitro* ADME services team. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of ADME assays safely to a high standard. The role includes contributing to the design, execution, analysis, interpretation and quality control of studies across multiple ADME disciplines, including physicochemical profiles, drug metabolism and permeability. This is an exciting and diverse opportunity supporting the rapid growth and continued success to the ADME/DMPK team, working within our state-of-the-art laboratories at our Chapel-en-le-Frith site.

You will take a leading role in the execution, optimisation and interpretation of *in vitro* permeability assays, including Caco-2 and MDCK models, ensuring scientific robustness, reproducibility and high-quality client delivery. The role involves strengthening and advancing our permeability capabilities, including troubleshooting, workflow improvements and integration with automation platforms.

Alongside this, you will also contribute across the wider *in vitro* ADME portfolio, including physicochemical and metabolic stability assays, with responsibilities adapting in line with project demand and client priorities. As a Senior Scientist within a CRO environment, you will demonstrate scientific breadth, flexibility and understanding of the commercial drivers underpinning project delivery.

You will work closely with Team Leaders to organise, execute and review studies. You will provide expert data interpretation and produce client-ready reports. You will engage with colleagues within the team and across sites, contributing to study discussions, presenting and articulating data to clients, and ensuring work is delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest scientific standard.

The role is hands-on laboratory-based, with additional responsibility for supporting laboratory operations, including reagent and consumable management, maintenance and troubleshooting of LC-MS/MS and UV-LC systems, and utilisation of Tecan robotic platforms. You will maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations, SOPs, and quality systems, while promoting continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Development will be offered at every possible step, including internal mentorship and external seminars/conferences/courses, and innovation and independence are desired to contribute to this progression of our science and standards!

- You are an independent and self-motivated, experienced Scientist with *in vitro* permeability experience, including Caco-2 and MDCK

- You will have experience troubleshooting data

- You will have theoretical understanding *in vitro* ADME/DMPK assays

- Experience working within an ADME/DMPK laboratory environment

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will be comfortable reporting and presenting your data

- Confidence in scheduling, prioritising and managing studies and tasks, with a conscientious and deadline-driven approach

- An understanding of the commercial environment of a CRO, with awareness of timelines, client expectations, study scope andthe importance of efficient, high-quality delivery.

- Competent in the use of IT tools such as Microsoft Excel and Word

- A BSc or MSc in a relevant scientific discipline, or significant industry experience within an ADME/DMPK lab

- Experience in LC-MS/MS operation and maintenance (ideally Waters instrumentation)

- Experience using laboratory automation platforms such as Tecan robotics, specifically for permeability assays

- Experience in other areas of DMPK such as metabolism and physicochemical profiling

- Experience using ADME/DMPK data processing software
