FULL DESCRIPTION
Job Title : Sessional Academy Coaching Staff (P/T)
Reporting to : Head of Academy / Head of Intermediate / Head of Children’s At [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] a Sessional Academy Squad Coach will be responsible for all coaching during training, match preparation and match day coaching relevant to their squad. The coach will also be responsible for arranging squad player assessment evenings and parent information evening for their squads.
Main Responsibilities and Activities
- Training
- Implementation of Academy coaching syllabus
- Facilitation of all squad training sessions
- Ensure access to specialist coaching as required
- Matches
- Prepare squad for participation in matches every weekend
- Select a team to play the match
- Coach team throughout the match
- Facilitation of match day requirements including kit
- Sports Science
- Ensure delivery of Sports Science programme through Academy Head of Sports Science and interns
- Medical
- Ensure full compliance with Academy Medical policy is relevant to your squad
- Liaise with Academy Physiotherapist with regards to appointments to treat players
- Follow Physiotherapist’s advice with regards to injured players, and return to play
Player Recruitment
- Assist Academy recruitment staff with player identification
- Assist with the Academy player exit policy if possible
- Liaise with Head of Recruitment with regards to trialists in your squad
- Education and Welfare
- Support Education and Welfare Officer
- Accommodate homework club if necessary
Additional Duties
- Facilitate and lead on player assessment programme for your squad
- Ensure full compliance with player, coach and parent code of conduct
- Attend regular coach education and in-service events
- To be flexible in working hours as you will be required to work or attend some matches.
- You will be an advocate for collaborative working, working together as part of the wider team with all other departments within the Company and external agencies and parties.
- You will be a positive role model for the Company, encouraging and promoting the core values and strong ethos of [Employer hidden], including supporter and community engagement.
Qualifications & Experience
- All candidates wishing to work with our U11 – U13 age groups MUST possess their Advanced Children’s Coaching Licence.
- All candidates wishing to work with our U13 – U18 age groups MUST possess their Elite Youth A or Pro Licence.
- All candidates wishing to work with our U10s age groups MUST possess relevant experience for the role and be working towards their advanced Children’s Coaching License.
- Ideally all applicants will have 2+ years’ experience in a similar role.
