From this background, the Group has evolved to further support our clients in their drive towards decarbonisation and Net Zero, providing a wide range of solutions, including LED Lighting, Solar PV, Heating solutions, Electric Vehicle Charging, and Air Purification. The Role Due to significant growth, [Employer hidden] Group is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer with expertise in electrical works to join our team. You will conduct on-site surveys to assess suitability for the installation of renewable solar PV systems, compile survey data, and prepare bills of quantities and scopes of works. Key Responsibilities - Survey Execution: Conduct detailed surveys of electrical systems to evaluate their suitability for solar PV installations. - Defect Identification: Identify and highlight any defects or issues that may impact the proposed PV system. - Documentation: Ensure comprehensive documentation of survey findings. - Scope & BOQ Preparation: Prepare an electrical bill of quantities and scope of works. - Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the technical team to coordinate survey assignments and prioritise tasks effectively. - Schedule Management: Maintain punctuality and self-motivation in planning and executing survey schedules. - Travel & Transport: Utilise a company-supplied van for transportation to survey locations. - System Review: Review information recorded on the company job management system. - Reporting: Compile survey data and images into a professional report, utilising strong IT skills to present findings clearly and comprehensively. - Licence & Insurance Compliance: Possess a clean driving licence and be over 25 years old due to company vehicle insurance requirements. - Nationwide Travel: Willingness to travel to various project sites nationwide as needed. Required Skills and Experience - Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and relevant regulations. - Experience in identifying and assessing defects or issues in Solar PV installation. - Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and the ability to plan and manage survey schedules independently. - Familiarity with solar installation practices, particularly in commercial settings, is advantageous. - Proficiency in IT skills, including the ability to generate comprehensive reports from survey data and images. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients. - Ideal position for a time served electrician looking to come off the tools. Minimum Relevant Qualifications - AM2 - 18th Edition - NVQ Level 3 - Level 3 Testing and Inspection (2394/2395 or 2391) Advantageous: - Level 4 Design and Verification (2396) - Solar qualification
