FULL DESCRIPTION

As a Supported Living Support Worker, you will assist individuals with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, and physical disabilities to live as independently as possible within a supported living setting. You will help with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure that clients are supported with respect and dignity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and assistance with daily living tasks (e.g., bathing, dressing, cooking).
  • Support clients in managing their health, attending appointments, and taking medication.
  • Assist clients with household tasks such as cleaning, shopping, and meal preparation.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans with a focus on promoting independence.
  • Encourage social engagement and participation in community activities.
  • Provide emotional and behavioral support in a calm and professional manner.
  • Safeguard clients’ rights, ensuring they are treated with respect and dignity.
  • Keep accurate records of care provided and communicate any changes to the Care Manager.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in care or supported living roles is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and/or mental health challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping others.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • SSSC registration (or willingness to obtain).
