We are currently seeking an experienced Manual Lathe Turner to join our established engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who takes pride in precision work and high-quality craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating manual lathes to produce components to tight tolerances
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
- Setting up machines, selecting correct tooling, and adjusting speeds/feeds
- Producing one-off and small-batch components
- Inspecting finished parts using measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges)
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a manual lathe turner
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Experience using the following: Hardinge, Colchester 2000, Herbert 4 senior proactive machines.
