My busy Chesterfield based client are currently seeking experienced and talented Platers Fabricators for their impressive, modern facility with immediate effect.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fabrication and development on bespoke steel fabrications in a heavy engineering environment.
  • Using varying workshop tools, plant and machinery.
  • Working from engineering drawings & specifications.
  • Expert level of building parts/assemblies to engineering drawings.
  • Welding to a high quality.
  • Measuring and marking out plate and sections for cutting, shaping and drilling.
  • Adherence to all health & safety policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed:

  • Confident plater & fabricator (ideally 3-5 years’ experience).
  • Experience in welding, drilling, tapping & cutting.
  • Aptitude for interpretation of engineering drawings and working from scratch.
  • Ideally apprentice trained or relevant qualifications.
  • Experience operating fabrication machinery.
  • Must have worked within a heavy steel industry (with experience on large structures, for example bridges, staircases, etc…).
  • Confident working from engineering drawings from scratch.

Working Hours / Benefits:

  • Monday to Thursday 06:00am-16:30pm.
  • Rate of pay - £15 - £17ph depending on experience.
  • 12-week temp to perm.
  • Modern facilities.
  • Free on-site parking.
