The predicted salary is between 13 - 18 £ per hour.

Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join their team on a temporary basis in Central London, 5 days a week on-site for 1-3 months. The pay is £16-18/h depending on experience.

Duties include:

  • Process monthly payrolls accurately and on time
  • Input, update and maintain employee payroll data (new starters, leavers, changes)
  • Validate timesheets, hours worked, overtime, and absence records
  • Calculate statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP, SHPP)
  • Process deductions such as tax, NI, pensions, student loans and other adjustments
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies before final sign-off
  • Generate and distribute payslips
  • Manage queries from employees and managers, providing timely resolutions
  • Support year-end processes, including P60s, P11Ds and payroll reporting
  • Assist with pension submissions (e.g., AE files, pension uploads)
  • Ensure payroll compliance with HMRC regulations and company policies
  • Maintain confidential payroll documentation and audit trails
  • Liaise with HR, finance and external providers where required
  • Support payroll projects, process improvements and system updates

You will have:

  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good understanding of payroll processes and legislation
  • Knowledge of statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, etc.)
  • Familiarity with tax, NI and pension deductions
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Confident using payroll systems and Excel
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication skills for handling payroll queries
  • Discreet and professional with confidential information
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to investigate discrepancies
  • Team player but able to work independently
  • Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer-focused approach when supporting employees
