CNC Setter/Operator in Ashwell, Somerset

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] are recruiting an experienced CNC Lathe Setter / Programmer to join a busy machine shop in Crewkerne. This is a great opportunity for a skilled machinist who is reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Set up and operate CNC and NC lathes, milling machines, drills, and auxiliary machinery
Read and interpret technical drawings and setup sheets
Program machines using software to model cutting paths (2, 3 & 4 axes)
Inspect workpieces for accuracy and defects using measuring instruments
Adjust machine settings to optimise production while maintaining quality
Troubleshoot machine issues and perform basic maintenance
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in turning or CNC lathe operations
Familiarity with Fanuc controls preferred
Strong understanding of production procedures
Ability to read drawings and manuals accurately
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Good teamwork and communication skills
Physical stamina and ability to work on-site
