Team Leader in Hoddesdon
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Team Leader to join a brand new 4-bed children’s home in Hoddesdon (EN11). This is a fantastic opportunity to help lead and support a dedicated team providing high-quality care to children and young people.
The children home is registered to provide support for children and young people who have emotional, complex, social and behavioural needs. The ethos of the children’s homes is to provide safety and stability to children in a time of great difficulty and change, enabling them to continue with everyday life even though they may be facing tough challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example and support a team of Residential Support Workers in delivering consistent, nurturing care
- Oversee daily routines and ensure a safe, structured, and positive environment for children and young people
- Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in implementing care plans, policies, and quality standards
- Mentor junior staff and assist with training and development
- Build strong, supportive relationships with children, helping them develop life skills and resilience
- Monitor and report on children’s progress, behaviours, and well-being
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safeguarding and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with social workers, families, and other professionals to provide holistic support
- Participate in the shift rota, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in a residential children’s home is essential
- NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or Children & Young People)
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Commitment to supporting children with emotional, social, and behavioural needs
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Full UK driving licence is essential
