We are recruiting an experienced Driver Manager to lead and manage a large driving workforce within a regulated, unionised public transport environment. This is a senior operational role focused on safety, performance, compliance and customer service delivery.

Key Responsibilities of the Driver Manager

  • Lead, engage and motivate driving teams to deliver safe and reliable services
  • Manage driver performance, appraisals, attendance, welfare and conduct
  • Ensure full compliance with Operator’s Licence, CPC, tachograph and licence checks
  • Support service delivery, staff planning, budgets and agreed KPIs
  • Drive punctuality improvement, lost mileage reduction and collision prevention
  • Promote a strong safety culture through leadership and engagement
  • Build effective relationships with trade unions, internal teams and external stakeholders

Requirements of the Driver Manager

  • Proven Driver Manager / Operations management experience
  • Strong people leadership skills in a unionised environment
  • Up-to-date PCV licence and Driver CPC (DQC) – essential
  • PSV Transport Manager CPC or working towards within 12 months
  • Professional, resilient and customer-focused approach
