The Role
We are looking to recruit a Junior Technical CAD / Product Development Engineer to join a growing engineering and product development team. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer or graduate looking to develop hands-on experience within a manufacturing environment.
You will work closely with senior engineers and the production team, supporting the design and development of products while gaining exposure to real-world manufacturing processes. Experience or exposure to shop-floor machining and Autodesk Inventor would be highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of products using CAD software, primarily Autodesk Inventor
- Produce accurate technical drawings and manufacturing documentation
- Check and update technical drawings as required
- Support production and manufacturing teams with technical information
- Work collaboratively with engineering and production colleagues to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
- Ensure all technical work meets company quality standards
Essential Requirements
- Proficiency or strong working knowledge of CAD software
- Basic understanding of metals and machining processes
- Awareness of GD&T principles
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- A positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn
Desirable (but Not Essential)
- Experience using Autodesk Inventor and/or Autodesk Vault
- Exposure to shop-floor machining or manufacturing environments
- Experience within door, cabinet, or architectural hardware design
- Degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience creating BOMs and technical documentation
