CMM Field Based Applications Engineer in High Wycombe

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] are delighted to be supporting a well-established engineering business that supplies and services precision equipment to clients across a range of advanced manufacturing sectors. With a strong reputation for technical quality and customer support, they are now seeking a CMM Field Based Applications Engineer to join their growing technical service team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing office and on-site CMM support for customers in the form of PC-DMIS programming, CMM system inspection and support as well as providing on-site training to customers and their Engineers. The role is partly field based, which includes covering a national territory and includes occasional overnight stays.

In return, the position offers a competitive salary of up to c£45,000 per annum D.O.E with access to paid overtime, no weekend work, company vehicle, laptop, pension, increasing holiday allowance up to 36 days (including stats) plus a daily meal and hotel allowance when working away. Due to the sensitive nature of some of their customers, applicants must be eligible for security clearance.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide remote and on-site service support and PC-DMIS programming for precision engineering equipment at client sites across the UK
  • Program CMMs using PC-DMIS software
  • Create and deploy CMM inspection reports as well as presenting findings to senior management
  • Perform PC-DMIS demonstrations to customers including in person training of external Engineers
  • Carry out measurement inspections using portable measuring arms and laser scanners
  • Identify and support new business development and upsell opportunities
  • Collaborate with technical partners and internal departments to stay abreast of changes to procedures and protocol
  • Work closely with customers to ensure service quality and satisfaction
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and equipment performance
  • Travel regularly as part of a field-based schedule including some overnight stays

Skills & Experience

  • Degree or apprenticeship trained in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar field
  • Proven experience with PC-DMIS or Polyworks strongly preferred but training offered for the right candidate
  • Able to interpret technical documentation and understand system schematics
  • Understanding of quality management systems and ISO 17025
  • Comfortable using computer software and working with technical tools
  • Strong customer service approach and confident communication and presentation skills
  • Flexible with travel and willing to work away from home when needed
  • Full UK driving licence required
  • Eligibility for Security Clearance required
