JOB DESCRIPTION

An exciting and varied role for a Fire Alarm Installer/Engineer where you will support and contribute in the day-to-day activities within a busy Engineering Department. You will maintain / design and install fire alarms systems and general electrical works.

Responsible for completing Servicing, Small Works & Commissioning on a range of systems, including Conventional Fire Alarm, Addressable Fire Alarms, Gas Detection Systems and Fire Suppression Systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES​

  • Service & Maintenance of Systems
  • Small Works & Repairs
  • Commissioning & Testing
  • Maintaining high levels of customer service.
  • Liaising with clients & the engineering team
  • Working closely with Service Administrators to plan works and give updates
  • Working to ensure compliance with safe systems of work, and suggesting improvements where required.
  • Liaising with Project Staff on larger works.
  • Taking part in an out of hours call-out rota.
  • Fit & maintain emergency lights
  • Detector upgrades to full system installation
  • Panel upgrades
  • Upgrade consumer units
  • PSU and AOV’s
  • Electrical Testing and Inspection
  • General electrical works

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Fire Alarm Installation experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the industry
  • Ability to organise workload.
  • Ideal but not essential – FIA Qualifications, ECS Gold Card, Manufacturer specific training
