FOSTER DISABLED CHILDREN
Our service is centred on the needs of the child and recognises the rewards and challenges that providing care to children with disabilities can bring.Our services to Local Authorities are provided either through providing a short-term break for a child or offering a short, medium or long foster care payments.There is increasing demand for placements for disabled children from Local Authorities. We currently only have a small number of foster carers approved to support disabled children and we are keen to recruit further carers accordingly in London and Luton (Pride Fostering Service).
Children may have different conditions and disabilities including:
- Autism
- Physical disabilities
- Learning disabilities
- Mental health needs
- Sensory impairments or challenges
To recognise the different challenges we assist carers with:
- Arranging respite breaks
- Providing higher level of support
- Arranging activities and day trips for children
