Senior Accountant

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant for a public sector organisation based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The main purpose of this role will be to provide financial advice to parts of the business including: - Preparing, monitoring and controlling revenue budgets - Maintain and develop accounting records and systems - Provide detailed analysis - Assist in the preparation of capital budgets - Support with financial advice for business plans and cases - Develop accounting processes and procedures - To coach and mentor others We are seeking candidates with the following skills and experience: - Past accounting experience - Preparing / monitoring capital projects and revenue budgets - Understanding and application technical guidance and regulations - Accounting closedown - Providing financial advice - Expert MS Excel skills and experience with accounting systems - Ideally CCAB Qualified (ACCA / ACA / CIMA) - Ideally Public Sector experience. This role will be hybrid based and offering a salary of £44,711 plus many benefits including substantial pensions, generous holiday allowance and flexible working.
