Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Director of Housing Property Services for a local authority on a initial 6 month contract.
This is a dynamic senior leadership position, central to delivering high-quality, affordable, and energy-efficient homes while maximising financial and environmental returns on assets. As well as the below key responsibilities we are also require the successful candidate to lead on the restructuring of the housing maintenance and repair strategy and also the housing asset management strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of affordable, sustainable housing aligned with priorities.
- Drive financial and environmental performance across property and glebe assets, including acquisitions, developments, and disposals.
- Provide strategic advice on land and building ownership, supporting organisational and community growth.
- Oversee performance monitoring, reporting, and continuous improvement across property services.
- Develop and implement a robust pipeline of property transactions and development opportunities in line with corporate and housing business plans.
- Champion excellence in service delivery, ensuring property teams are responsive, accessible, and exceed stakeholder expectations.
- Shape long-term strategic budgets to deliver best value and support objectives.
What We’re Looking For
- Director level experience in a housing and asset management focused role in a social housing or local authority based environment.
- Strong strategic thinking and financial acumen.
- Deep understanding of governance, compliance, and statutory frameworks.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community wellbeing.
Other Details
- 6 month initial contract
- 3 days in the office and 2 days from home
- Day rate of £850 per day via a umbrella company
