Senior Quantity Surveyor

A well-regarded independent building consultancy is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team and lead on cost consultancy across a variety of projects, including refurbishment, and new build. This is a fantastic role for a seasoned Quantity Surveyor who is looking for responsibility, variety, and long-term growth, outside of a large, corporate environment.

Role & Responsibilities of the Senior Quantity Surveyor:

  • Working on varied schemes up to £10-15m in value
  • Lead cost management services from feasibility through to final account
  • Prepare estimates, cost plans, tender documentation, and procurement advice
  • Manage and negotiate with contractors and consultants to ensure value for money
  • Provide commercial oversight and value engineering to maximise project profitability
  • Administer contracts, valuations, and cost reporting throughout the project life cycle
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders

Skills & Experience of the Senior Quantity Surveyor:

  • Significant experience in quantity surveying within a consultancy environment
  • Experience in contract administration and cost control
  • Proven ability to deliver cost planning, tendering, and final accounts
  • Excellent client relationship skills and commercial acumen
  • Strong technical understanding of construction methods and costs
  • Relevant professional qualification (MRICS or equivalent) desirable
