[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a Senior Developer / DevOps Engineer to join their team. Responsibilities include leading development, managing AWS infrastructure, and communicating with stakeholders. Essential skills include experience in a senior Web Development / DevOps role, version control systems like Git, and AWS experience. Desirable skills include CI/CD workflows and experience with MySQL, Redis, AWS Lambda, Serverless Framework and GraphQL.

Responsibilities

You will join a team of developers in a senior capacity. As a senior member of the team, you will communicate directly with other areas of the business within an office setting. However, flexible working hours may be considered. Your main responsibility will be to see tickets through from initial opening all the way to pushing them to production. This will involve working with the ticket owner to understand their requirements, overseeing development on the ticket (either doing the required work yourself, or delegating to other members of the team), reviewing the development work completed and merging the work into production. In addition, you will be responsible for day-to-day dev ops using AWS. This will involve monitoring and responding to issues with current infrastructure, in addition to looking for optimisations that can be made to improve cost and/or user experience. You will work closely with all stakeholders including the IT support desk, directors of the business and the sales and marketing department. As such, the ability to communicate effectively to people with a non-technical background is essential.

Essential

  • Experience in a senior Web Development / DevOps role
  • Experience with version control systems such as git
  • Experience with AWS or another cloud computing platform
  • An understanding of the importance of testing & documentation in a team project
  • The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders from a non-technical background
