Job Description

The Assistant Headteacher (SENCo) will ensure effective implementation of the SEN Code of Practice and Inclusion Policies. The role includes managing special needs provision, supporting pupils’ attainment, and overseeing SEN strategies and interventions

Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 (depending on qualifications and experience

Location: Easily accessible via public transport for those without a cars.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of SEN and inclusion strategies.
  • Set and monitor school targets for pupil attainment.
  • Analyse assessment data to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for development.
  • Develop and implement individualised support plans for SEN pupils.
  • Liaise with external agencies and manage the SEN budget.
  • Provide training and INSET on SEN provision for staff.
  • Manage and support SEN support staff.

Person Specification:

  • Essential: Qualified Teacher status (QTS), experience in teaching and managing SEN, commitment to raising attainment.
  • Desirable: Professional development in SEN, experience in mentoring and teacher training.
