Head of English (Maternity cover)

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head of English to join our team for 12 months. You will lead and manage the English department to ensure high-quality teaching, effective resource use, and improved learning outcomes for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

• – Develop and lead the English curriculum for all pupils.
• – Create a motivating learning environment with well-organized resources.
• – Prepare students for 11+ exams and run extra sessions as needed.
• – Maintain detailed records and liaise with the Headmistress regularly.
• – Identify and support pupils with additional needs or those who require extension activities.
• – Promote English through extra-curricular activities like book fairs and World Book Day events.
• – Manage the department’s budget and use IT for lesson preparation and reporting.
