Trainee Civil Engineering Technician

Come and join us at [Employer hidden]

Want to work with a friendly group of professionals committed to great engineering? Get your teeth into exciting projects (and some more modest ones too) across the UK? We want to hear from you!

[Employer hidden] is a civil and structural engineering practice, established by Sam Price and Robert Myers in 1978. Over more than four decades we’ve completed a huge range of projects, from Stirling Prize winners to domestic back extensions. We are designers who help architects and clients bring their vision to life with elegant and efficient engineering. There are about 130 of us across our four studios in London, Oxford, Nottingham and Bristol.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated apprentice with strong aspirations to pursue a career in civil engineering.

As a Trainee Civil Engineering Technician, you will be exposed to:

  • The design of a broad range of projects, from small residential schemes to major mixed-use regeneration developments.
  • Understanding the engineering requirements of a project.
  • Reading technical documents, drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Using software for the production of drawings.

Typical duties include:

  • Supporting civil engineering projects by creating and modifying engineering drawings in line with industry standards.
  • Assisting in the development of engineering solutions by collecting and analysing technical data and using digital tools such as CAD, Site 3D, and Civil 3D.
  • Ensuring that drawings comply with the company’s quality assurance standards.
  • Continuously learning and developing your skills in line with professional codes and industry standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • English and Maths at GCSE Grade 4 or above.

Desired Requirements:

  • Any experience using design software such as AutoCAD would be advantageous.

This position also provides an opportunity to enrol in a college degree or course, for which we will provide support.

Please email a CV and cover letter to Dimitris Linardatos at [contact hidden]. No recruitment agents please.
