Responsibilities include safeguarding, mentoring, promoting social inclusion, and supporting young people's development. The role involves creating a supportive environment, assisting with educational and domestic skills, and maintaining accurate records.

Job summary [Employer hidden] Group is an organization that contracts staff to provide integral support to at risk children. We require dedicated staff that will ensure that young people progress and develop to their full potential. Staff will endeavor to create a relaxed atmosphere based on trust and honesty, which will complement the young people’s confidence and self-worth. We intend to support the development of young people so that they can have a fair opportunity in their adult life. Furthermore, we also intend to provide them emotional support for any trauma and to address any safeguarding that pertains to the well-being of the young person.

Safeguarding

  • Exercise your responsibility for duty of care.
  • Be alert to indicators or signs of abuse and neglect and report any concerns immediately to the appropriate line of management.
  • Always follow the company’s policy and guidance on safeguarding Independent living program
  • Support, Mentor YPs with their educational, training and employment needs
  • Support YPs in gaining and developing domestic skills.
  • Promote social inclusion which allow YPs to develop their confidence and improve their social skills by participating in relationship building activities and key work sessions.
  • Support the YPs create a budget plan.
  • To create consistent reports and ensure all records are kept accurate and up to date. Reporting
  • Staff is expected to complete daily and weekly reports.
  • Staff is expected to contact the relevant professionals.
  • Staff is expected to report misconduct to management.
  • Staff is expected to report safeguarding concerns.

Service delivery

  • Uphold YPs dignity and respect and ensure files and records are kept accurate and up to date.
  • The placement must be kept clean, and staff is to maintain it daily.
  • Any concerns about the property must be addressed to management.
  • Always exercise your duty of care to the YP.
