Location Head Office – Burntwood

Hours 08:30 – 17:00 (40hrs per week)

About the Role
As a Technical Sales Graduate, you will play a key role in supporting the waste approval process, ensuring waste streams are classified correctly and compliant with environmental regulations. Under the guidance of the Technical Assessors and the Technical Sales Manager, you will develop expertise in waste classification, compliance, and approval processes, gaining hands-on experience in hazardous and non-hazardous waste assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in reviewing and assessing waste streams, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), WM3 classifications, and pre-acceptance documentation.
- Support the pre-acceptance and waste approval process, ensuring compliance with Environmental Agency regulations, ADR, and COSHH.
- Work with the Technical Assessors and laboratory teams to arrange sampling and analysis for waste verification.
- Help maintain accurate records for regulatory compliance, audits, and ISO requirements.
- Gain a working knowledge of site permits, waste acceptance criteria (WAC), and disposal/treatment options.
- Assist in reviewing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), supporting investigations and corrective actions.
- Work with the team to streamline the waste approval process and improve efficiency.
- Monitor and track waste approval turnaround times, ensuring smooth operations.
- Collaborate closely with the technical team to develop knowledge and skills.
- Participate in training on waste classification, compliance, and industry regulations.
- Support colleagues in technical assessments, documentation review, and process improvement initiatives.
- Assist in liaising with customers to gather waste data, clarify classifications, and request missing documentation.
- Work with the commercial team to provide technical input on waste streams and disposal options.
- Ensure customer queries related to waste approvals and compliance are handled effectively.
Essential Qualifications & Experience What You’ll Bring
- Science A levels, science degree or equivalent.
- Interest in waste classification, hazardous materials, and environmental compliance.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail when reviewing technical documents and regulations.
