Job Description:

As the Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Home Managers to ensure the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance across both homes. You will be responsible for leading and inspiring staff, managing daily operations, and promoting the well-being and development of our young residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Home Managers in the overall leadership and management of the home.
  • Ensure high-quality care and support services are provided in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated team of care staff, promoting a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Oversee daily operations, including staff scheduling, budget management, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are rigorously followed and that the safety and well-being of all residents are prioritized.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of care standards and the development of innovative practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a children’s residential care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to promoting the well-being and development of children and young people.
