To support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) standards across the business.

The SHEQ Co-Ordinator ensures compliance with legal and company requirements, promotes a positive safety culture, and drives initiatives that enhance operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct site audits, inspections, and risk assessments across depots and transport routes.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings to drivers and operational staff.
  • Maintain accident and incident records and report to relevant authorities as required.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of quality standards (e.g. ISO 9001, BRCGS).
  • Control and maintain the company’s Training matrix.
  • Conduct internal audits and assist with external audits and accreditations.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs related to SHEQ performance.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management.
  • Monthly meetings with the UK Head of Compliance
  • Travel to other Rhenus UK Facilities will be required
  • Maintain documentation and records to be always audit ready

What you bring

Skills & Experience Required:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (preferred)
  • Experience in a transport, logistics, or fleet environment (preferred)
  • Knowledge of UK SHEQ legislation and standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence and engage staff at all levels
  • Able to work independently or as part of a Team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office systems
