Summary

Seeking a SCADA Solutions Engineer to work with the automation control teams of Novotek's customers, using their technical knowledge and application of modern automation technologies. Responsibilities include designing and presenting automation solutions, communicating value propositions, supporting sales efforts and providing support to systems integration partners. The role offers flexibility and the opportunity for ongoing professional development.

  • Design, validate and present automation solutions for greenfield and upgrade scenarios
  • Effectively communicate different aspects of automation value propositions to a mix of customer roles, including non-technical people
  • Evangelise our key partners’ (GE Digital, Emerson Machine Control) products to customer technical teams and influencers
  • Support sales and marketing efforts by building and delivering demonstration solutions for key customers and markets
  • Provide support and consultative services to systems integration partners that work with Emerson and GE technologies
  • Help Novotek sales colleagues identify and qualify automation product opportunities in their customer and prospect base.

Establish detailed knowledge of customer automation footprints, and their ongoing needs for investment and support

Help Novotek sales colleagues identify and qualify automation product opportunities in their customer and prospect base.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in science, engineering, technology or related discipline or equivalent industrial experience such as a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience within a hands-on automation or systems engineering role

Technical Expertise

Substantial hands-on experience with GE Digital’s Proficy iFIX SCADA and ideally related solutions such as Proficy Historian (5-7 years)

Experience with PLC or other automation control platforms, including HMIs/panels

Practical experience with OPC communications, ideally OPC UA and OPC DA, and other automation communications protocols such as MQTT

Exposure to relevant automation standards such as ISA 95, ISA 101 (HMI), ISA 18.2 (Alarm Management), ISA 62443 (Security) or ISA-88

Practical experience configuring IT infrastructure to run in industrial environments, including use of Windows Server and virtualisation solutions such as Hyper-V or VMWare

Experience of any of the following would be beneficial:

Use of scripting languages such as VBA or Python

MS SQL Server

Use of trending and/or reporting tools to supplement SCADA and Historian functionality
