FULL DESCRIPTION
Summary
To manage and control the Accounting and Admin function such that accurate performance information is produced and company and statutory guidelines are adhered to. To be responsible overall for the production of the Group Companies’ Weekly / Monthly Accounts, Cash Forecasts, Forecasts and Annual Budgets, to control capital expenditure programs and to supply effective management accounting information to assist the Directors in their decision-making processes. To meet all statutory reporting requirements such as statutory accounts, VAT, PAYE, Statistical returns etc. Build and maintain good working external relationships with the Group’s lawyers, auditors, investment managers, insurance brokers, banks, VAT and tax Inspectors, key Suppliers and Customers.
- Key Responsibilities: Responsibility for ensuring timely completion and filing of the Group’s annual accounts, full responsibility for the co-ordination, preparation and review of the weekly accounts, periodic forecasts, monthly accounts and annual budgets. Maintenance of adequate controls on all physical stock valuations and preparation of accurate stock valuations. Produce relevant information to facilitate management decisions with regards to pricing, forecast volumes, stock mix, trend analysis, etc.
- Key Requirements: experience in statutory accounts, weekly reporting, periodic forecasting, monthly accounts, annual budgets, stock management, management information, staff management, accounting software and daily accounting, payroll, IT management and legal & statutory.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
STATUTORY ACCOUNTS
Responsibility for ensuring timely completion and filing of the Group’s annual accounts in conjunction with the Auditors and external accountants
WEEKLY REPORTING
Full responsibility for the co-ordination, preparation and review of the weekly accounts and profitability statements.
PERIODIC FORECASTING
Full responsibility for the co-ordination, preparation and review of periodic forecasts. Review with the Management Team to take place on a regular basis.
MONTHLY ACCOUNTS:
Overall responsibility for the co-ordination, preparation and review of the monthly accounts together with a written commentary on variances to forecasts. Review with the Management Team to take place on a regular basis
ANNUAL BUDGETS:
Full responsibility for the co-ordination, preparation and review of the Annual Budgets and Business Plans in line with business developments and company strategy.
STOCK:
Maintenance of adequate controls on all physical stock valuations and preparation of accurate stock valuations. To control and co-ordinate all stock take activities at the end of each month to validate book stock.
MANAGEMENT INFORMATION:
Produce relevant information to facilitate management decisions with regards to pricing, forecast volumes, stock mix, trend analysis, etc.
STAFF MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT:
Acting as line manager for accounts and admin staff, Interviewing and recruiting, day to day coaching on work and inter-personal issues, carrying out appraisals, encouraging team development and relationship building within all areas of the business.
STAFF JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Define and agree detailed job descriptions with staff clearly setting out their Job expectations and targets to meet the departmental objectives and reporting requirements in a consistent and appropriate manner.
WORK LOAD PLANNING:
Plan and manage departmental workload such that all staff objectives and reporting requirements are met in a consistent and appropriate manner. This will be achieved by regular staff meetings to review progress and provide feedback on performance and offering appropriate support and mentoring.
ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE AND DAILY ACCOUNTING
Overall responsibility for the smooth running of software applications including SAP Business One, together with integrated logistics, and Sage 50 and liaison with external support
PAYROLL AND HR ADMIN
Overall responsibility for the monthly payroll preparation, inputs to HR Director etc.
IT MANAGEMENT
Overall responsibility for the effective functioning of IT systems and internal networks
LEGAL AND STATUTORY
Dealing with legal and statutory compliance issues as they arise.
BREXIT
Ensuring a smooth transition in respect of the Group’s export and import activities
AD HOC:
Perform ad hoc accounts and admin duties as required by the Directors / Managers including decision making and problem-solving functions
