FULL DESCRIPTION

Summary

A Process Design Engineer is required to join the Process Design and Engineering Team, providing process engineering services and technical support. Responsibilities include designing systems, completing projects using Aspen HYSYS, and providing technical guidance. The role also involves site work, training, and interfacing with external parties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing Ejectors and Systems by applying basic engineering principles (such as heat and mass balance, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, process control and P&ID development).
  • Completing FEED projects and Process Simulations (Aspen HYSYS).
  • Support the Sales and Projects Departments with technical guidance and instruction on conceptual design and application engineering, process flow diagram, P&I diagrams, Process Engineering Flow Scheme, process datasheets, equipment & instrument specifications, sizing and selection of equipment and material, heat and mass balances, simple GA drawings, and selection of mechanical ratings.
  • To provide support to other departments with the generation and review of engineering calculations, functional design specifications, reports and other technical documentation as required.
  • To support the development of design methods and associated internal softwares for company products.

Core Requirements

  • Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills with the ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely solutions to the company and interested external parties
  • A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of process engineering and basic knowledge of the requirements of other engineering fields
  • Competent use of process engineering software such as Aspen HYSYS
  • Competent use of other relevant software such as MS Office Suite
  • A recognized and relevant Chemical (or Process) Engineering Degree

Purpose of the Role: -

To be part of the Process Design and Engineering Team, providing process engineering services, including technical support within the department.

Primary Responsibilities: -

  • Designing Ejectors and Systems by applying basic engineering principles (such as heat and mass balance, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, process control and P&ID development).
  • Completing FEED projects and Process Simulations (Aspen HYSYS).
  • To work in a department of multi-disciplinary engineers having process, mechanical and software backgrounds.
  • Support the Sales and Projects Departments with technical guidance and instruction on conceptual design and application engineering, process flow diagram, P&I diagrams, Process Engineering Flow Scheme, process datasheets, equipment & instrument specifications, sizing and selection of equipment and material, heat and mass balances, simple GA drawings, and selection of mechanical ratings.
  • To provide support to other departments with the generation and review of engineering calculations, functional design specifications, reports and other technical documentation as required.
  • To support the development of design methods and associated internal softwares for company products.
  • Provide site work support at client’s sites: to include commissioning, troubleshooting, equipment health checks, internal and client HAZOPs, site acceptance testing (SAT), the production of risk assessments, method statements, and site visit reports as required.
  • To interface with external parties, including visits to clients, suppliers, exhibitions and training providers.
  • To provide training and presentations to internal and external parties as required.
  • To adhere to health and safety, departmental quality assurance and procedures.
  • Any other duties as required that are commensurate with this level within the organisation, along with deemed by management to be within the post holder's capabilities.
